The hunting season in England starts at the 12th of August, and people call it "The Glorious Twelfth". Something we need to point out here is that, shooting here refers to only hunting wildfowls. Though for most countries, hunting has its own special meaning, but in England, hunting only refers to riding horses together with hunters' hound to hun foxes, or other wild animals similar to that. But apparently, most of the laws have forbidden fox hunting since 2004.

As the name suggests, shooting wildfowls, you need great equipments, for example, excellent Shotguns. And you also need to use Shotguns for hunting deer, which people here in England call it “stalking”. Because hunters need to follow these animals for a long time before success hunting. Hunters would use Shotguns for hunting wildfowls, and Rifle for deers. And for Europe hunters, they also have wild boar hunting traditions, and hunters would use Rifle as well.

There is a serious of wildfowls that hunter could hunt, but they all have different persistent duration. For example, the hunting season usually starts with grouse, following by partridge and pheasant. The GWCT(Game&Wildlife Conversation Trust) would announce that exact start date and duration for particular animals. Besides that, England also have measures to protect the animals' habitats. Not only for these particular animals but also for those who sharre the same habitat. As the grouse for an example, they only multiply in the north of England ans inside the moor besom shrub. That's also the number one reason why people have more motivation and use more resources to protect the moor besom shrub just to protect the number of grouse.

Wildfowls hunting, while hunters usually choose forest as their best shooting location. When hunters arrive at the hunting point, someone we call them "Beaters", indicates those who are in charge for chasing has already chasing those wildfowls to force them to fly inside the forest for hunters' successful shoot. They got names like that becasue their futy is usually to beat the bles or shrub to make the wildfols fly. For safety, hunters are not allowed to shoot those low flying wildfowls.
